Homemade Graham Crackers

Homemade Graham Crackers Recipe

Lately I’m finding more and more recipes that blow the “convenience” versions found at the grocery store right out of the water. And let me tell you, these Homemade Graham Crackers are no exception!

These snacks are not only perfect for all ages to enjoy, but they were nice and easy to make, which allowed Maddie (2 years old right now) to help out!

This child loves to bake with Mommy, and as soon as she sees the “big bowl” come out of the cupboard, she runs to get a chair to stand on so she can see what’s going on and get her hands right in there!

If you can find Graham Flour, that is ideal (I personally have only seen it in bulk foods stores so far), but we made these ones with whole wheat flour and they were still amazing!

This recipe makes about 50-60 small crackers, or 25-30 large, it all just depends on the size. You could also use cookie cutters and make some fun shapes, it’s all up to you!

Either way, you will need all of them judging by how fast they disappeared in our house!

Homemade Graham Crackers

  • 1 1/4 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Graham or Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla

  1. Measure flours, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda into a bowl, and cut in butter mixing it around until it is mealy.
  2. Stir warm water, vanilla, and honey together and add to flour mixture.
  3. Mix around until it forms a ball, divide in 2.
  4. Roll dough out right on ungreased baking sheets with a floured rolling pin until about 1/8 inch thickness.
  5. Mark off squares without cutting through, and prick with a fork all through the dough in even rows.
  6. Bake at 425 degrees for about 10 minutes (until golden), they will get crispier as they cool!
